Dallas-Fort Worth Tops List as Most Attractive Market for Real Estate Investment in 2024
According to the 2024 U.S. Investor Intentions Survey conducted by CBRE, Dallas-Fort Worth has emerged as the most attractive market in the United States for real estate investment. The survey, which drew responses from a diverse group of 134 participants, highlighted DFW’s strong performance across key metrics.
DFW not only claimed the number one spot in the “Top 10 most attractive markets for investment,” but also secured the top position in the “Top 10 markets for total property returns.” This impressive showing comes as no surprise, considering that DFW started the year with the second-strongest increase in home sales in the country.
In addition to developers, owners, and operators, the survey also included real estate funds and private equity funds among its participants. The findings revealed that nearly nine out of 10 respondents expressed concern about persistent, elevated interest rates. The Federal Open Market Committee’s decision to maintain interest rates unchanged for the fifth consecutive month, at 5.25% to 5.50%, has further heightened these concerns.
Among the top worries for investors are stricter credit availability and loan terms, as well as differing buyer and seller expectations. Despite these concerns, DFW’s strong market fundamentals and growth prospects continue to make it an attractive destination for real estate investment in 2024.
